our lazy weekend
so tony and i had to work on thursday and friday, so we decided that in the weeks to come we know that we will be entertaining and lighting up the town, we chose saturday to be our "do nothing day." IT RULES!!! i caught up on a million phone calls and read two books, and finished teaching myself to knit...mom i have 1/50 of a scarf made, so don't expect a sweater for christmas :) . Sunday we ran some errands that we really didn't need to do, like go to best buy and get cds and price some new cameras ( also look at flat screen tvs and navigation systems for the car-but that was in dream land, we cannot afford those things right now). then we went to borders and splurged...although i love the library, i wanted to get a cheesy wedding planner book...i know, i know i could use a regular notebook and everything would be ok, but i LOVE checking off things that are done, and the book i bought has all the lists in the world that i could possibly want ( plus '7 things that photographer, caterer, dress shop, etc won't tell you'- that has maybe freaked me out about planning a wedding afar). tony bought some books too, one by mel brooks son about preparing your self for the coming of zombies-written in true Michigan militia style...it's really funny...
afterwards we went to panera for dinner-we both wanted soup, but didn't feel like cooking and then we went to see corpse bride IN A THEATER THAT SCREAMED I LOVE THE 80'S...
it was like the ford-tel-old gross seats, and the ambiance of the showcase dearborn-blech- teenaged kids talking -not whispering through the whole thing, and even when the staff was alerted, the kids would only shut up for like 15 minutes at a time!!! the place was gross and we will never go back there again...but the movie was fun! how old did i just sound there.???..who cares.
today we went to cambridge and ended up exiting the subway right in front of ben's old place of employment..cheapo records...we bought a few things and headed to the garment district...it is a store that is very similar to showtimes in detroit (without the local designer's clothing lines), vintage clothes, hair dye, fishnets, shoes and halloween costumes on one floor and the other floor has clothes, shoes, bags, belts, etc for A Dollar a pound...it looked like fun, but i didn't feel like digging through piles of clothes in the floor (literally) in search of cool vintage tee's...
after we made a few purchases ( i bought the best red sweater in the universe) we were going to sit down and read some books at a coffee shop, but were starving, so we had dinner at a club/restaurant/bar place that had the looks of the eclectic cafe in windsor, but Mediterranean food-yum...
after a quick ride home on the t, we are about to sit down to watch the third harry potter movie ( the trailer for the next one was in the theater, and we decided we should see the 3 one).
OH YEAH!! i am sure that i told most of the people that read this, but just in case...
WE GOT OUR NEXT ASSIGNMENT IN TUCSON, ARIZONA!!!
we will be home for thanksgiving, and then head out to AZ right after, although we worked christmas into our contract, so we will be home for that!! YAY!!
also, scott and carrie will be here the weekend, so i look forward to showing them "our town" and the cape and salem-so some of the posts to follow may be repeat info...but who cares!!!
