standing on a corner in tucson, arizona

today tony and i went to take to my car to get an oil change and as we were walking around the city waiting for it to be done, we saw the greatest thing in the universe!!!!
a rust coated mini-van with flames painted on the side and old lady( could have been like 70, or 50 with bad over-tan skin-who knows in arizona) on a very old looking cell-phone...the best part...the mini-van mess had 20 inch rims and spinners!!! WTF!!!

Collasal Cave Mountain

So Tony and i had this weekend off. Originally, sarah was going to stop in and see us while on her trip to LA, but than that sounded too complicated and expensive, so tony and i contemplated going to LA to visit the kids. Instead we spent the weekend as follows :sat on our bums, a "date night", hiking in some caves, and rollerblading then watching some flicks.
Friday we slept in and then did some shoppings ( groceries, new shoes, some new workout stuff). Saturday we did nothing...it was soo nice... then we made dinner together: portabello stuffed mushrooms, cheese fondue appetizer and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert! Then we watched Hitch...it was such a cute movie! i would totally watch it again!
Sunday we got up a little early and headed for the caves!!
we wanted to do some hiking, but at this cave, you can only got on a guided tour during the weekend...It was amazing though. this cave has been here for millions of years...there is fault line that we were standing under, that travels for like 3 miles underground.
It is a 'dry cave" which means that the rivers have dried up in at, so althought there are many stalagtites, stalgmites and hectitites, they are dust covered so no longer look like shiny crystal...
the cave stays at 70 degees all year round!
During the week, they have a ladder climb which is where you can go spurlunking with "head" lights and ladders through the other parts of the cave-not the tour guided part with hand rails and steps...i think that when eric, maria, and mike visit we are TOTALLY going to do that!
Monday we cleaned up our place-blech and then went rollerblading...i used to do it all the time in the neighborhood near ford field-fearless-on streets with giant cracks and loose gravel, but here i was a little freaked out... the track was three miles long and smooth, but there were so many people i was afraid to wipe out. WHICH I DID NOT!! YAY!! then we walked around the track once ( so i figured i could skip the gym after 6 miles). We got home and made dinner and i got to talk to beth-who i have not talked to in a millino years.. then we watched another movie and the beginning of another-we are vidiots!
we watched "just like heaven" my valentines choice and it was adorable... i think i have a girl crush on reese witherspoon, well maybe i just want to be her friend..
then we started to watch grizzly man...weird...i got too tired, so we will finish it later, but it is about this dude who thinks he is a bear... well he connects with grizzlies in alaska, and then gets eaten by one...true story...but interesting!!
Today we have to work-BOOO
but there will be more excitement coming as our second set of visitors are on the way!

come on Barbie, let's go party

So this was a very busy couple of weeks...mom and dad were here ( as seen in previous post) and then Barb came during the same week!!! we had so much fun! We picked Barb up from the airport and had lunch-Mexican of course...i think that is all we ate for like 8 days in a row :) ... then we drove for an hour to the biosphere 2! Yes, the same one that was in the Pauly Shore movie THAT NO ONE HAS SEEN -well I have, but mom, dad, Tony, Barb...no one!! i mean, i know pauly shore is not the best actor, but anyway...so we went there...It was amazing...it is 3 acres under a tighly sealed glass roof.. there are different elements of 5 different ecosystems. it was a project in the late 80's/ early 90's to see if people could live in a self-sustaining ecosystem. They couldn't without supplemental oxygen pumped in, so they fixed some stuff up and tried again, failed. Then Columbia U used it for research. And lastly a company used it to research a more effective, less expensive air conditioning unit! It worked, according to our tour guide it should be out soon!
Anyway it was fun..Then Thursday mom, Barb, and i went to phoenix to try on a wedding dress ( i am sure that everyone already knows about this, but i am so excited). So i tried on one that i saw on line and I LOVE IT!!! i won't explain what it looks like ( in case tony reads this :) ) but i love it sooo much...now i don't feel so bad about the first time i tried dresses on...i was so sad that i didn't LOVE any of them...BUT THIS ONE, I LOVE!!!
anyway afterwards the three of us went to Bahama Breeze and then stopped off at Sonic for some meat for dad and tony...
Poor guys..they were going to rent a car and go to some airforce museum, and missle museum, but because of the gem and mineral show ALL the rental cars in tucson were booked!! WTF...
so the poor guys stayed at home, watched movies and drank their dinner...well not really...they made a huge salad for themselves and us ( but we went out!!) sorry daddy!

Then ( BOOOOOOO ) we had to drop mom and dad off at the airport! BBOOOOO i wished that they could stay longer...
barb and i spent the rest of the day by the pool..getting sun and talking smack..We went to dinner and stayed up hangin out... since we had a very busy day of sitting by the pool again!
Tony and i had to work sat, and sun. so poor Barb stayed at our place, afraid to go outside-just kidding- but there were a few coyotes hanging out near our balcony...if probably had nothing to do with the fact that we throw our scraps outside so we don't have to throw food out-Whoopsy...
anyway then monday we were off, and we hung at the pool again! and then did some shopping!

OH YEAH!! tony and i got our next assignment in Flaggstaf! YAY! so anyone who said they were gonna visit us, but didn't ( you know who you are) have another chance to come to Arizona!
