So i realized ( not without lots of reminders) that it has been a long time since my last post...although i have many great excuses no one wants to hear them, so watch out for a million posts at once!
It seems like a million years ago we left flagstaff, although i know it was a little over a month ago.
We left on Father's day and headed for Utah. Tony and i decided that since we had a week to get home we wanted to see some cool attractions before we arrived...
so we went to Utah to Arches National Park...it was really cool, but not nearly as cool as we thought it would be...well i guess if we had more than a few hours to check it out and hike around there it would've been better, but we did know that we would eventually have to sit in the car for 30 more hours. So we drove around and hiked for a minute...we did see some great wildlife, lots and lots of lizards.

We started to drive and realized shortly after we were very far away from civilization that we were getting dangerously close to running out of gas... The shell station just outside of colorado must have known that because we got raped into paying like 3.06 ( mind you this was a month ago!) so we were outraged, but not stuck in the desert without gas..

Then we got back in the car and headed to colorado...we wanted to at least get to denver before dark.. which we did. Along the way we got duped into checking out a "bison overlook" and buffalo bills final resting place. TOTAL RIP OFF!! there were not bison to be seen anywhere and the cemetary where buffalo bill is supposed to be was like 10 miles from the exit, so we got back on the highway and headed to the next stop. We stopped in Sterling, CO. It is after the mountains, but not very far from a prison, in fact the prison was on the same road as the hotel. But by that time, my main concern was not hitting any deer at night, so prison or no prison we were going to get some sleep. I did wake up periodically and make sure my car was still there ( it was just like living in detroit again!)
After a very quick continental breakfast we strapped ourselves in for the next days drive.... I got on the phone with Brian ( or Moe :) ) who had just left Nebraska a few days before we drove through Omaha. He told us that the deer were suicidal and that we should not drive through Iowa at night.. So we took his advice, and rode straight through Nebraska and stopped for a nap in Des Moines. We finally ate some real food and i think at that point i FINALLY got the hang of driving with the trailer on the back of the car.
We headed out for our final day of driving...Through Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan at last...
We got stuck in traffic near Chicago so we stopped off and ate ( in what we later found out was a really schetchy place) But needless to say we made it home safe. Moved into our new place and have started at the University hospital, so far without problems.
Thanks to everyone that i talked to on the road to keep me up and give me driving/traffic advice.!!!
